Four Sets of Dampeners Instead of OneInside the base, four independent sets of springs are arranged in a square around the central axis. This configuration dampens vibrations across two axes at once: vertical shocks from potholes and cobblestones, as well as horizontal oscillations from the motor or e-bike wheels. While single-damper anti-vibration modules primarily work along one axis, this four-point layout responds to chaotic impacts that come from multiple directions during a ride. The difference is most noticeable on your camera: smartphone manufacturers warn that prolonged severe vibrations damage optical image stabilization (OIS) mechanisms--and that is precisely what is most exposed on handlebars.
One-Press LockThe phone is inserted from the top and secured by pressing the red button. Releasing it works the same way--a single press opens the clamp. Both clamp arms are mechanically linked, meaning they open and close symmetrically in a single motion, allowing the entire operation to be handled with one hand. You'll notice the difference especially during daily commutes, where you mount and remove your phone multiple times a day, often while wearing gloves or in a rush.
10 mm Silicone in All Four CornersThe gripping surfaces inside the clamp are lined with a 10 mm thick vulcanized silicone pad. The silicone serves two purposes: in each of the four corners, it acts as a micro-dampener for minor shocks that bypass the base springs, while also preventing the phone from shifting during sharp turns or hard braking. As a result, the phone does not rest on hard plastic, but on a material that yields slightly under pressure and bounces back. Tested Locking MechanismThe lock and clamp are among the most stressed parts of the mount, as they are used on every ride. Supplier internal testing on model YYS-683 included a lock test of 10,000 open-and-close cycles and an insertion test of 3,000 phone insertions and removals--both retaining smooth mechanism operation throughout. Additional testing included thermal tests and a bump test simulating vibrations during high-speed riding.
